AAMP is an exploration of structural tension and material honesty. Designed as a sculptural lighting element, it strips away the traditional "lamp" silhouette in favor of a monolithic arch that frames light rather than just housing it. The name reflects its amplified presence—a heavy-set, brutalist form that commands the space it occupies while providing a warm, atmospheric glow through its tinted aperture.
AAMP
The development of AAMP focused heavily on the marriage of CAD precision and material realism. Modeled entirely in Autodesk Fusion, the project was a study in balancing geometric simplicity with technical accuracy.
Particular attention was paid to the high-fidelity rendering process, where I focused on the tactile interaction between light and surface. I meticulously calibrated the surface roughness of the cast concrete and the refractive index of the tinted glass to ensure the final renders reflected a true-to-life physical prototype. The inclusion of the braided power cord adds a layer of soft-good realism, grounding the digital model in a tangible, domestic context.
The material palette for AAMP was chosen to create a sensory "push and pull":
Cast Concrete: Provides a raw, architectural foundation and a sense of permanent weight.
Tinted Glass: Acts as a visual filter, softening the internal bulb and adding a touch of sophisticated "tech" aesthetic.
Braided Extension Cord: A nod to premium audio equipment and heritage craftsmanship.
Axis Project Synergy: AAMP was designed to sit as a companion piece to the Axis Project setup. Its architectural lines complement the modularity of the Axis system, providing a heavy "anchor" to the workstation. The concrete texture bridges the gap between digital workspace tools and raw interior design, making it an ideal peripheral for a curated, high-end desktop environment.
